Creating
Accrual Policies
Click on the main "Admin" tab, and
then on the "Accrual Policies" link
located under the Policies
heading.
From the main "Accrual Policies" screen,
click on the [ADD] icon to create a new policy.
- Enter a Name
for this policy as you would like it to appear
in the program.
Select
the Accrual
Start Date from the drop-down
menu.
Select the
Rollover
Type from the drop-down menu.
This defines how accruals will rollover from
one year to the next.
Detailed
rollover settings are specified later on in the
setup.
Select the
Probation
Period option to define that
this accrual is subject to a probationary
period. The following settings appear.
- Probation
Period Time Frame: Enter
the desired time frame, and select "Days,"
"Months," "Years,"
or "Hours" from the drop-down
menu.
Probation Period
Setting: Select "Restrict
Accruing" to prevent this policy
from accruing hours until the probation
period has passed. With "Restrict
Absences" selected, hours for this
policy will accrue, but employees will
be restricted from using the accrued time
off until the probation period has ended
(Supervisors/Administrators will still
be allowed to enter the absences if necessary).
- Click on the [SAVE] icon to continue.
Milestones
Once you have saved the Accrual Policy, the
Milestones
section of the screen appears. Milestones allow
you to set up different rates of accruals based
on employee seniority.
This section of the setup differs depending
on whether you are using "Calendar Based
" or "Hours Worked Based" accruals.
Click on the link below for the type of accrual
that you would like to create.
